It is because the learning process is continued throughout life that Friends are seekers as well as finders – not one or the other, but both. One only has to think of the need for a continual search for fresh language, unsoiled by use, to know that we must, if we care about truth, continue to be seekers. We may have a firm hold on old truth ourselves, but unless we are eager to find new ways of expressing it we may be unable to speak the word of life to others just when they most need it.

For a group that worships in silence we do love to talk.
Our Meeting has folks from a wide variety of religious backgrounds and while we have all found our way to the Quakers we love getting the chance to talk about how our experiences change the way we interpret the testimonies. Currently we are reading the book Living the Quaker Way by Philip Gulley and using it as a spring board to talk about the main tenets of Quaker belief; Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equity, and Stewardship.
It’s not required to read the book prior to attending a book club/theology discussion it is simply a place to start. Listed below is an archive of additional readings from previous discussions.
